There was this church. And in this church, dress code was enforced.
So one day the pastor got behind the pulpit to preach. And he looked into the crowd who were all dressed fine and casual - men in suit and ties, women in dresses and head coverings - and he saw this elderly gentleman who was not following dress code. All he had on was shorts, a white T-shirt, and flip flops. simple casual wedding garment with sleeves
At the end of the service the pastor went to that man and started talking to him; then he said to the man, "Sir, you know we have a dress code for modesty right?"
The man says, "Yeah I know, but I just come in dressed light".
The pastor replies, "Sir you are a Christian, right?"
"Yes sir." Said the man.
"Well then," said the pastor, "One of the things we do if we want to have favor with God is to express our love to Him through how we dress. So if you could come next time in a suit and tie, you will have favor with God".
The man replied, "I don't think that's really necessary".
The pastor said, "Let me ask you this: do you ever pray?"
"Why yes", said the man, "I do pray, and God even talks to me."
"Sir I want to advise you when you get home to pray and ask God what He wants you to do about your apparel."
The man replied "Ok I'll do that".

Next week at church, the pastor got behind the pulpit to preach and he looked into the crowd again, and saw that same elderly man, who was still dressed the same way he was last week.
At the end of the service, the pastor went to that man and said, "Sir, you are not dressed properly!"
The man said, "Yeah so?"
"Sir" the pastor retorted, "Did I not tell you about our dress code?"
"Yeah" said the man.
"Did you pray at all when you got home?"
"I sure did, and you know what, God actually spoke to me".
"Really, what did He say?"
"I said, 'Lord, what do you think of me following dress code in this church?' And He said to me, 'Son, I have never been to that church'. So yeah, have a nice day."
