I got to work in the gynecology ward today and I got to see the miracle of life. The gynecology resident taught me how to read an ultrasound and then I got to see two natural births. It is the most amazing thing I have ever seen. The first baby came out no problem, but the second one had a tough time. The head was out, but the shoulders got stuck. The scary part was that the head was out, but the baby couldn’t breathe. They cut the perineum, but still no luck. The chief of the gynecology ward had to step in and massaged the baby out. Although the whole ordeal took a total of maybe 3-5 minutes, I felt like it was hours. Can’t imagine what was going on through the mother’s head.
