Position: Registered Nurse (Oncology)
Duration: ASAP – (07/18/2017 – 10/25/2017)
Pay Rate: $55/hr.
Location: Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA
Days/Hours/Shifts: Three twelve hour Days E/O weekend, E/O holiday. Must be willing to float to unit of similar acuity.

General Summary:
· Care on D6 includes general medical/surgical patients as well as oncological and remote telemetry from the age of 18 to geriatrics.
· The care is provided by a professional staff that includes Registered Nurses, (and GNs), Licensed Practical Nurses and (GPNs), Health Aides and Technicians.
· Diagnosis’s include but are not limited to pulmonary disease, diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, infections and oncology and remote telemetry according to criteria.
· Procedures performed by the staff include medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, hyper-alimentation, blood administration and pain management. Nurses are educated in the administration and safe handling of chemotherapy during orientation and annually. country style of the wedding for women
· In collaboration with the Pharmacy, chemotherapy is administered by specially trained RN’s.
· Patient education needs are assessed on admission and throughout their stay. Social services, along with Care Management and other healthcare professionals, assure that the patient is cared for on a continuum.
· They assure the patient and/or family has appropriate resources for discharge, placement or are supported through end of life decisions.
· Average nurse to patient ratio 1:5 and 1:6.

Education and Experience Required:
· Current RN License in the State
· Current BLS / BCLS certification
