Last week I saw an educator friend post a excerpt from a book (see picture). The quote resonated so deeply that I posted & began seeking the book where it originated. I just finished it. So, here is my very short modest review ...

Although the title may be a little shocking, this book pulls together so many effective trainings ... Conscious Discipline, Restorative Justice, relationship building, Framework for Understanding Poverty, & Love & Logic. You have to read the book with the context of your school & the kids you serve that ARE NOT like you. Those students with different experiences, values, & cultures. At times I wondered if it was more for secondary teachers ... maybe. Ultimately I am happy that I purchased it & read it. I had some convictions as well as took away ideas that will make me a more effective educator. I can & do recommend. It is different from any other PD book I have read.
