Definitely, i am on industrial attachment for the cause that i have done which is community health and public health so i have started carrying out a task related to the objectives that i was assign to like immunization of children, prenatal and postnatal care, used sphygomanometer to measure B.p from pregnant women and tested their status in the maternal and child health care clinic which is commonly known as MCH, Nutrition, HIV/AIDS counseling and testing, Dispensing of dru ... gs, Family planning, parenteral Administrations like i.v, i.m injections and I.v infusions, in the Opd like dressing of wounds and learnt circumcision and stitching of cut wounds by the use of surgical suture which is classified as absorbent and nonabsorbent, learnt artery forceps, needle holder, scalpel, dissecting forceps, sterile pad, worn examination gloves, sterile surgical gloves, gynecological gloves, learnt anesthetic like lidocain , in the T.b unit i have basically learnt the drugs and their phases, for instance we have intensive phase for 2 month and continuation phase for four month, for patients suffering from PTb and intensive phase for 2 months and continuation phase for 10 months for patients suffering from EPTb and for sputum smear positive and smear negative patients. In addition I have also gone for a field work in the area of public health and what i covered was waste management, food quality and WASH. Primarily I learnt specific laws of public health like the laws governing medical certificate and food hygiene/ food,drugs and chemical substances/ solid waste i.e cap 242 and cap 254 respectively.
Moreover i have worked in the injection room and administered injections in different kind of route like I.m( the buttock, deltoid muscles and anteriolateral thigh), I.v( direct to the vein slowly and by infusion).
Finally i have worked in the maternity room where i have known about the stages of delivery in the delivery room and the medication given for the contraction of the uterus, before the removal of the placenta to stop PPH, postnatal care, post c.s and the newborns in the newborn unit in cases of asphyxia for resuscitation e.t.c.
